Testimonials

" I am a 66 year old female and I knew there was something wrong with my right hip. My GP referred me to Mr Rao and I was lucky to be seen within a few weeks. I was x-rayed, and an appointment for pre-op and admission for surgery was made on the same day!

My surgeon, Mr Rao was fantastic.  At the outpatient appointment, he talked me through the X-ray and explained that the cartilage of my hip joint had worn away; I could also see the bony growths that the pressure of bone on bone had caused.  He talked through the hip replacement surgery and was very professional and thorough.

I really felt it would take ages for me to feel better, but I persevered with my exercises and every day there and I was off my crutches in less than a month post op and was walking pain free.
I AM NOT IN PAIN and back to dancing which I love – WHOOPEE.
I can’t thank Mr Rao enough. "

" Short message to thank Mr Rao and his team on behalf my wife who had the both knee replacements done at Chichester Nuffield and myself her husband. The surgery and treatment of my wife had not forgetting the aftercare we received was first class. Prior to both operations Janet could hardly walk anywhere and was in constant pain. Now only six weeks after the second knee operation, Janet hardly complains of any pain, the knee is getting stronger and we notice an improvement on a daily basis.

Thank You so much for everything! "

" I am writing with reference to my recent stay at Goring Hall on 20th August 2016 where I had a full total hip replacement which was carried out by Mr Rao.  I was given the choice of general anaesthetic or epidural, I chose the latter which was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend this option if it were to be offered.  I would like to say that the care I received from you both pre and post op can only be described as outstanding, the post op nursing care I received was of a very high standard, the nurses were friendly, caring and made me feel relaxed, they made me feel like I was the only person they were looking after, they were never in a rush.  The food was outstanding and the meals were served by helpful friendly staff.  The Support from the physio team has also been great and they have been very encouraging.

I would like to say a great big thank you to you and all the staff during my stay with you at Goring Hall and wish you well for the future. "

" From our first meeting I felt relief as I was told by Mr Rao that I will need a hip replacement as it has worn out beyond any other treatment options, exactly the news is was hoping for as I was suffering with so much pain on a daily basis at young age for years. It interfered with almost every part of my life.

I was told 18 months before by a local GP that at the age of 41 years, I Maybe too young to have this operation and had to have a second opinion as I could not bear it anymore!

On the 15th of august 2016 I arrived in the morning, was welcomed and informed of what was going to take place, in the afternoon I was taken down to theatre by a great team of professionals, I remember having an injection in my spine at 1.55pm then an oxygen mask placed on face.

Opened my eyes and I asked when are we going through to get the operation done and you told me it was done! I mean wow, I looked at the clock and it said 3.25pm, I was amazed, I was then taken back up to my room where my mum was waiting for me.

Fabulous team of nurses and physiotherapists then had me on my feet the same day, with the aid of 2 walking sticks! And over the course of 2 nights I was given all the relevant exercises and information to work in partnership and I have made full recovery from the pain of arthritis within a six weeks.

I am so thankful to all involved in the work that you do at BMI Hospital Goring Hall.
You have made my first experience of a major operation and stay in hospital something that I will treasure for ever, as it has changed my life.

Thank you so much "

" I have just had a complete right hip replacement and I cannot praise the staff from the person who cleaned the room to the consultant highly enough. They all acted very much as a team with their friendly, informal but very professional approach making you feels very cared for.

I was in the hospital for three days and when I was discharged I was able to walk on two sticks and I know that one stick is not far off.

I was discharged with the details of my follow up appointments so I know exactly where I stand.

" Mr Rao performed my left partial knee replacement at Goring Hall hospital. My knee, 4 weeks after the operation is so much more comfortable than before the operation with far better range of movement and less pain, and I know will continue to improve.

The care I received before the operation, in hospital and then follow up was superb, everyone was very kind and professional. I felt very comfortable and reassured at all times.

Once again, thank you very much for your expertise. "
